Safflower is a popular option for being high in protein and fat. Millet is good source of magnesium, phosphorus, protein and calcium in the mix. Great mix for most parrots and parakeets. Why Buy Seed in a Breathable Mesh Bag?
   Bird seed, despite being dried, still has a moisture content. When this seed is packaged for commercial use there are three proper methods; nitrogen flushed, micro-perforated, or breathable mesh. All three of these prevent the development of microscopic fungus, especially Aspergillus, which can be quite deadly for both cage and wild birds. Breathable mesh is arguably the best method for packaging as it allows more "breathing" and is easier to store safely after opening since the bag can be closed back up.Â
